It’s just given me an opportunity to be a lot more creative as I am building this practice internationally and now, I’m at a point where I want to hire more people so that I can scale my income and still do the things that I love to do.
Kindall Tyson
Kindall offers support groups in Beijing while seeing clients one-on-one virtually back in her licensed state. Her work varies but the therapy clients that she has remain in Texas.
Learn to let go
As your practice grows, you will need to step away from things that you used to do to make space for what you should start doing to maintain that progress.
At some point, you will need to hire an assistant or a social media manager, or someone to take over some of the smaller tasks that you have been doing – because you had to – but now need to let go so that you can be the CEO.
It’s been a mindset shift for me to recognize that I don’t have to have my hand in all the pots. Now, I have to know what all the pots are and that they’re working well … that’s been the lesson for me, is that I don’t have to be in control of everything.

Overcome the limiting beliefs
The people that you meet everywhere can open doors to amazing opportunities to help your practice grow, but you need to see it that way.
You need to change your mindset and consider things in new ways to make these things possible for you.
The three main aspects that Kindall suggests are:
- Organizing your systems
- Resting
- Being in alignment
Knowing when to say yes to something and knowing when to gracefully back away from an opportunity I think is just as important as doing all the things because all of the things don’t align … if I were to think of a word that encapsulates it right now, it’s alignment.
Kindall Tyson
Is the work that you are doing in alignment with your mission, vision, and business systems? Are you moving in the right direction with your actions and decisions?
Almost anything is possible when it comes to private practice building … [so] you’ve got to create the practice that’s right for you. I can give you the blueprint, but you take it and you make it what’s important to you.

Focus on the possibilities versus the challenges. Be solid in the skills that you offer, and know that things are continually a work in progress.
