You know those people that just reek of awesomeness? I just had to interview Bob Jackman, MS, LCPC! We met at the American Counseling Association Conference and his story is amazing.
Here’s what Bob says about his work:
“People ask me what type of clients do I see. I work mostly with adults and adolescents who have been struggling with the pain of depression or the debilitating effects of anxiety for a long time. I help my clients see the thought or emotional patterns they keep on repeating and we look at the reasons why that may be, but we also talk about how to heal this pattern so they can move on and create a more fulfilling life for themselves. I am very active in my therapy approach and you will get a “homework” assignment at the end of each session. This keeps the momentum of your work moving and this is where you will gain the most insights into yourself. Many clients tell me that they have not had a therapist that was as engaged in the process as I am with them.”
Transitioning to full-time private practice
Bob and I talk about so many awesome things, here are a few highlights of what you’ll learn in this podcast episode:
- Three steps to an amazing speech.
- How to market yourself. One thing he said was to “Be clear on the value you bring!”
- What men won’t talk about and what bob wouldn’t tell me on air
